This article is meant to address the method of manually updating your LED displays Novastar controller firmware with the ViPlex Express software.  You can also update a controller's firmware from the MyCloud web interface in the "Players" tab.  If a firmware update is needed, the software will indicate this with a small red asterisk.

1.  Open the ViPlex Express software and confirm you have a connection to your LED display controller.  The controller will show up with a green dot to confirm the connection.  *If you do not have ViPlex Express installed, you can download and install it from the "Software Downloads" page:  https://fusionled.powerappsportals.com/software-downloads/

4.  If you can update the controller with the "Online Upgrade" option, the update will take a significant amount of time and will require you to have a stable connection to the sign during the upgrade process.  It will first download the software from the web, then upload it to the sign from your computer.  Because the software updates are usually 200mb, this will take some time, so please be patient.  Once the software is uploaded to the sign, the controller will update itself and go through a series of reboots, your sign will be black and sometimes will display a message that is is "updating".

*For T3 controllers that have a firmware older than the v2.5, you will need to perform a manual update process.  For the manual process, you will need to download the v2.5 firmware here:  https://fusionled.us/downloads/Taurus(TB3TB4TB6TB8)V2.5.0.0101.zip, unzip the file contents and choose the "Local Upgrade" radio option.  It will ask you to browse to the correct file for upgrade.  The file name you will need to choose is "UPDATE_OS_T3T4T6T8_TAURUS...".  The manual upgrade process is much faster since the file is already downloaded to your computer.
